My Career as an ISD Professional
I earned my Master's Degree in Instructional Design from Bloomsburg University's Institute for Interactive Technology. Since Grad School, I've built a career centered around Multimedia & Employee Development initiatives. Listed below are some of my design/development experiences and process improvement practices.
01

eLearning w/Safety Focus
I have designed and developed dozens of eLearning courses with a focus on safety for Eaton, GE, Westinghouse, and Duquesne Light. The tools I am most comfortable with are Articulate Storyline, Vyond, Synthesia, Photoshop, and FinalCut Pro. I also have experience with SumTotal and SuccessFactors LMS technologies.
02
Product & Process Training
Most of the courses I have developed over the last 10 years have been product training, software simulations, and sales training. I am often the person responsible for the storyboards, the design of the training modules, the video production, narration scripts and audio production, multimedia integration, and assessments that function in the Learning Management Systems.

03
ISD Process
Since grad school, I have worked to help companies create and refine their Instructional Systems Design processes to better manage the intake and production cycles for their training teams. This includes Needs Analysis, Scope Documents, and Style Guides for eLearning and LMS Implementation.
I studied the Dick & Carey Model of Instructional Design and Gagne's Events of Instruction. They are foundational in my approach to designing learning solutions and measuring outcomes.
04
Westinghouse Experience
At Westinghouse, I learned a lot about Best Practices in highly regulated environments. I worked with auditors, EHS staff, and quality assurance managers to incorporate Six Sigma practices and Human Performance Tools to keep our work environments safe and compliant. I also worked with the Directors and HR Business Partners to roll out special project initiatives. This allowed me some flexibility to create an interactive experience for the entire company... outside our standard set of courses and workshops that we routinely developed for internal customers.

05
Learning Consulting
My biggest strength is that I love the learning consultant role. I am really good at listening to customers (internal or external) and moving thru questions and follow-up questions that get to the root cause of their learning or development needs. Over time, I have developed a very calm and patient style that puts people at ease and I understand knowledge transfer and technology solutions very well... so I am rarely at a loss for a new approach to an old problem or simply designing and developing solutions that meet the customers' needs.
